Artscut Sovir

Artscut Sovir is a simple, classic grey and white speckled granite that is the perfect compliment to any contemporary kitchen. The interspersion of different grains and colours create a bouncy, fun and vibrant appearance to the stone, imported from the quarries of Portugal.

As with all-natural granite, Artscut Sovir is an igneous rock which is constituted of quartz and feldspar, amongst other minerals. It occurs naturally beneath the surface of the earth over hundreds of thousands of years, resulting in an extremely hardwearing, resilient stone that has been used over the course of history in the construction of buildings, monuments and paving.

Over the past few decades, granite has been the material of choice for residential homes as it is able to offer the true beauty of natural stone with its unique and often exotic looks, along with durability, strength and longevity. It is also sure to add value to any property in which it is installed. As there is very little calcium present in granite, it does not etch in the way that marble is prone to when exposed to high levels of acidity, such as that present in lemons, oranges and other acidic foods.

Slabs of Artscut Sovir can vary in size and comes in two different finishes. Artscut Sovir comes in the classic, glossy polished finish along with a velvet touch leather finish.

Being a natural stone, each block of granite varies with its own unique beauty, with slightly different shapes, patterns, colours and gradients emerging. Therefore, it is recommended that you view the stone in person and select the exact slabs that you are going to be using for your project.

For granite, 20mm and 30mm thicknesses are the most popular, with 30mm suiting the more traditional, country style kitchens and 20mm better paired with contemporary kitchen stylings. Its large slab sizes make it ideal for kitchen islands and large surface areas where it can be installed seamlessly.
